Something I find rather interesting about this little tidbit news story is the fact that the only reason the media are all over this and everything else related to Ms. Prejean is because she apologetically offended the gay community. The girl freaking spoke her mind and actually spoke it quite eloquently for a southern California valley girl and the world still can’t get over this woman’s tactful exhibition of…. Wait for it…

Free speech.

The last time I checked, this was still a free country and one that supposedly values the right to free speech so highly that we made part of our very first amendment.

Anyway, so all the gossip news now is covering Carrie Prejean implants, Carrie Prejean Playboy, and overall Carrie Prejean pictures. I guess everyone wants a look at those unnatural boobies so that we can once again dig up more reasons to make the gay community feel better about itself by trashing an otherwise decent American woman.

I’m so over this.

On Thursday, Letterman announced that he is a “victim of extortion attempt over charges of sexual affairs with staff members,” according to the New York Times. Letterman was approached by someone who asked for $2 million to keep the racy information a secret.

According to Reuters, Letterman states that about three weeks ago he received a package from Robert Joel Halderman, a producer for the CBS documentary news program 48 Hours. In it was a screenplay showcasing all of Letterman’s affairs. Also, there was a note inside that said “I know you do some terrible, terrible things.” It asked for $2 million. Letterman immediately went to the Manhattan district attorney’s office where he was advised to write a fraudulent check for $2 million.

Halderman faces attempted grand larceny charges. He is due to appear at New York State Supreme Court later on Friday.

As I searched for information concerning this case, I was shocked by something that not many news Websites were discussing. I’m talking about the fact that a married man (and father) was having multiple affairs.

Letterman has been with (now) wife for nearly 20 years and they have a 6-year-old son.

This behavior isn’t acceptable.

I don’t care if someone was trying to extort him. Letterman’s actions are just as inappropriate as those of the Halderman’s. Just as Halderman faces a maximum sentence of 15 years, Letterman should too.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to him or anyone else considering he had an international warrant for his arrest from a 1977 “unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor” case.

As a well-known director of films such as Chinatown and Rosemary’s Baby, Polanski is used to being in the public eye, and his life has been nothing less than controversial.

Perhaps you remember Charles Manson and the pregnant woman that he destroyed? Yes, that would be Polanski’s wife and child. That was in 1969.

In 1977, Polanski got involved with a 13-year-old girl…sexually. The details are hazy (as usual) but he’s had a warrant for his arrest ever since.

Initially charged with rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, lewd and lascivious act upon a child under 14, and furnishing a controlled substance (methaqualone) to a minor, Polanski fled the U.S. a year later. He’s been living in France since and recently directed The Pianist, which he accepted a directing Oscar in absentia.

This weekend, as Polanski was flying to Switzerland for the Zurich Film Festival in which he was being presented with an honorary award, he was set up for interception.

He was caught and is now in Swiss custody.

The U.S. has yet to request a formal extradition and have Polanski brought back for trial.

The latest on the rapping egomaniac is that his little “stunt” on stage might actually have been just that, an act, as reported by Pop Eater.

Honestly, it was the first thought to pop into my mind, but that was before I knew much about him, besides having heard a few of his songs, by chance, on the radio.

Kayne West was once quoted as saying something along the lines of — since I’m pulling from memory and can’t find the exact wording — ‘The only thing in life I will regret is not being able to watch myself live in concert.’

Wow. Ego anyone? I think West has enough to share with the six-plus billion on our planet right now, though I doubt he’s willing to give any up.

I don’t think the act was staged. Just look at this guy’s ego’s record to see for yourself. If that last quote, unquote didn’t give it away, what else do you need? The man’s all about himself and obviously believes he can do anything.

Well, he’s certainly provided the world with one more pointless story to cover as “news,” as I’m sure Kayne’s big mouth will continue to do in the future. I just hope this one doesn’t last as long as the true King of Pop’s, may he rest in peace, finally.

Every time that he has an outburst, such as the “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” comment made around the Hurricane Katrina victims, they tend to get bigger and flashier because the public is quickly becoming desensitized to his attention-whoring tactics.  

That seems to have backfired this time with his mess at the MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye West quickly became Kanye Mess in the process.

Kanye’s outburst caused a general uproar from the Twitter-verse, with everyone from journalists, critics, celebrities, Joe blow and Internet Hitler all taking aim at the controversial rapper.  The biggest name to perhaps throw a tomato on the public-relations-challenged artist is none other than President Obama.

Obama slams Kanye in a leaked “off the record” interview and simply calls him a jackass for his hijacking of Taylor Swift’s award acceptance.  It may have been the best move of Obama’s presidency, and one that he should file away for later use against political enemies: The Obama Donkey Punch.

While many people will cry and whine that the president wasn’t proper or polite, I argue against that sentiment.  The president is just like any other person, and as Wilson spoke his mind when he called Obama out during his health plan speech, Obama spoke his mind about something that no other reasonable American would disagree with: Kanye West is a jackass.

Ahhhh, just imagine it.

We would be free from his wild actions: like this and this.

It would be beautiful wouldn’t it?

Mr. West is a very talented musician. I do enjoy listening to some of his songs, but as an actual person… I think that he might actually be unreal. It would be a more likely alternative to explain his actions. From now on, we should all pretend that he’s actually a robot who is programmed to believe that he’s the best thing on Earth.

Fine. Perhaps this isn’t the most realistic explanation but I choose to believe it. (I’m open for other suggested explanations.)

It’s hard for me to believe that someone who is actually a person would be so (fill in whatever adjective you feel is appropriate here) to other people. I wonder what his momma thinks.

Just to confirm my theory, let’s look at the clues. Feel free to add your own clues and/or theories:

- the Taylor Swift situation (see above link)
- the George Bush situation (see above link)
- he thinks he is God’s gift
- he believes he will be the new King of Pop: “You know everyone loves and respects Michael but times change. It’s so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new King of Pop and I’m willing to take that on.”
- slanted sunglasses… Which aren’t really even sunglasses considering they block zero light
- his hair

There are really just too many great things happening here to ignore.

Regardless of how you feel about her, her grandbaby’s daddy — Levi Johnston, the one who knocked up her oldest daughter Bristol — is making his feelings known in the October edition of Vanity Fair.

According to the Associated Press, Johnston said that Palin wanted to adopt their baby so that people wouldn’t know that her daughter was pregnant. You’d think that someone who had carried children would know that it’s quite difficult to hide a pregnancy, especially when you are constantly in the public eye.

Not to mention, it’s a little bit creepy.

To increase the intensity of this story, we should discuss the name of Bristol and Levi’s wee child. They had a son in December and named him Tripp. More like Trip-up! Although, that’s really nothing because the Palin’s youngest child’s name is Trig. I’m not sure where they were going with that…on both accounts.

Still, my favorite part of this story is that Johnston is outing Palin as a money hungry loser. This is what many of us have thought for a long time, so I suppose it’s nice to see someone so close to her confirming these things.

But DJ AM’s time at the top is over.

DJ AM, who’s real name is Adam Goldstein, died at the age of 36.  Police found his body in his apartment on Friday.  It is speculated that drug use may have been the cause of death but nothing is certain.  Goldstein has had problems with cocaine addiction in the past and has battled depression, leading to a precedent for his behavior is drug use turns out to be the cause of death.

It is a shame that such a musical talent should succumb to such a fate after a high profile career and cheating death in a plane crash.

Little miss fake boobs, fake nose, fake hair, fake…just about everything, posted a tweet after last night’s performance in the Bahamas, “Last night was one of the best nights of my life!!!! I had so much fun! My first performance! Thank you God!” according to Right Celebrity. (And I only take their word for it because I don’t follow Mrs. Pathetic Pratt on Twitter. Sorry.)

I just watched — more like endured — the video a few minutes ago. Sad to know this was Montag’s first performance. First impressions are everything, or so I’m told. What a bomb she dropped, and no, not the fifth grade slang kind that equates to “awesome” or “great.” I’m talking about the bomb that blew Hiroshima into nothingness, and the bomb that blasted several species in the South Pacific into mutated messes.

The girl can’t dance and obviously can’t sing because she was lip syncing the entire time. Not to mention, the people putting on the show obviously caught wind of the disaster early on because they cut the camera to images of the pageant girls for almost half the performance. I’d say that’s pretty terrible, to say the least.

Perez Hilton was quoted as saying, “While it was most definitely bad — it wasn’t EMBARRASSINGLY bad!”

Hah! What a joke. Not surprisingly, this is the 598th time I’ve disagreed with Ms., ahem, Mr. Hilton.

Is it just me, or does this seem just a tad convenient?

So far, the pictures haven’t been confirmed as “real,” and some are arguing that they’re not Hudgens. I would suggest taking a look for yourself. The similarities between the High School Musical miss and these photos is slightly more than uncanny, if they’re not really “real.” And if the person baring all in these isn’t Hudgens, well, she certainly has the ability to play off of her striking resemblance to the teen star. I’d move to Hollywood ASAP if I looked like that. Heck, I’d audition for High School Musical 4.

I also have to wonder what Mr. Zac Efron thinks about all this. The couple has been together for more than three years now. He forgave her the first time for taking off her clothes and showing the world her goodies, and come to think of it, so did Disney, despite being one of the most family oriented names on the planet.

Ah, the Vanessa Hudgens scandal 2009. I wonder what she’s got in the works for 2010/2011. Maybe next time she’ll get a little more creative…show a butt crack or something. I can’t wait…
